By giving "religion" its own section (Dewey 200's) separate both from the fiction (FIC) and the actual sciences (500's theoretical, 600's applied), perhaps Melville Dewey is not expressly indicating whether its fact or fiction because it can't inherently be proven nor disproven (beyond the creators of every one of these invariably damning the followers of all of the others to unspeakable eternal perdition). Nonetheless, it is an inherent bias to give an entire section (200-299) over to this, while topics like electronics get narrow ranges (621.3) and even all of medicine is squeezed into the 610-619 range.
