Listen here, dummy. The joke is all about the element sodium, which has the chemical symbol "Na." Get it? "Na" is repeated sixteen times to mimic the beginning of the Batman theme song. And because there are sixteen "Na"s it refers to the sixteen sodium molecules from the beginning of the joke. It's funny because science and comic books! Also, you probably still watch Looney Tunes.
