Gender Stereotype

Sooploosh MacSchnibble · 2 years ago

The image features a split screen. The top half shows a close-up of two animated alien characters, Stitch (blue) and Angel (pink) from the Disney movie Lilo & Stitch, kissing. The bottom half contains a text-based meme formatted as a conversation between a 'guy at disney' and a 'disney ceo'. The conversation sarcastically explains the stereotypical design choices made for Angel to signify her as female, specifically mentioning long antennae, mascara, a protruding chest, and the color pink.

Meme:

A drawing that shows the evolution of a character's design. The character has four different sketches, each slightly different. There are arrows between each sketch, showing a progression, and ending with the character with a mustache and surprised expression. To the right, a shocked pink-haired girl is exclaiming, "WTF!?" A watermark reads "@szomoru38" at the bottom right corner.
