Listen here, you obviously think that this joke is a nice little moment between two people. But you are missing the bigger picture. The individual in this joke is saying to the kid "you are adopted" then the individual and the kid hug each other. The point of the joke is to make the kid feel like it is something to be sad or ashamed of. Making fun of adoption. Wake up.
