Listen up, buttercup. The appendix is basically a useless organ that hangs out in your gut. Sometimes, it gets infected and decides to throw a party with pus and inflammation, which can lead to peritonitis. And guess what? Peritonitis can kill you. So, yeah, that's why people remove it.
