What do you call a man off the ground?
Hanged.
What do you call a man off the ground?
Hanged.
This is a dark pun. The setup asks what you call a man off the ground, and the punchline, 'hanged,' plays on the double meaning of the word: physically suspended and also executed by hanging.

Hung is the past tense of to hang when it means “to suspend or be suspended.” Hanged is the past tense of to hang when it means “to kill someone by tying a rope attached from above and removing the support from beneath.”
