Red Moon?

Why is the Moon red today?

The reason why the Moon takes on a reddish color during totality is a phenomenon called Rayleigh scattering. It is the same mechanism responsible for causing colorful sunrises and sunsets, and for the sky to look blue.

Listen up, buttercup. The moon looks red 'cause of Rayleigh scattering, which is the same reason sunsets are pretty and the sky is blue. It's light being all weird and scattered by tiny particles in the air. You probably think scattering is when you spread your toys all over the room.
