American Government Collapsing

Pretty crazy to watch the American government collapsing in real time like this.

I wish the internet existed the way it did in the early 2000s during the Soviet union. I'd love to read message boards describing what people thought 5-10 years before the whole thing broke down.

And then the aftermath of people picking at the corpse and becoming absurdly wealthy after scooping up those state assets.

Republicans have had a multi generation plan to create a partisan supreme court. The fact that the court is on the wrong side of so many issues whether it's campaign contributions, environmental policy or what a woman can do with her own body is a sign that they've been largely successful. If Sonia Sotomayor steps down, one president will have chosen 4 supreme court justices that are friendly to him. He is going to do to America what he's done to his other businesses. Bankrupt it and then run away.

I think democrats as a brand might be done after Trump. For years they were in power and they failed to exercise party discipline and vision. The whole world is watching what a political party can achieve with long term planning(buying up local media to manufacture consent, building a massive "knowledge" network of think tanks to inform policies at every level of government, focusing on getting as much judges as they can on their side) and exercising STRICT party discipline and solidarity. Trump is the fruit sprouted from a tree that was planted 92 years ago after the failure of the business plot. The greediest people you can imagine didn't take it lying down and worked behind the scenes for years to get to this point. Trump is going to dismantle whatever shreds are left of the new deal and return America fully to the business environment that necessitated the creation of things like social security to begin with. The men who tried to undo the new deal have finally gotten their revenge. I guess we can take solace in the fact that none of them(i hope) are alive to see it.

I'm so glad I've diversified my portfolio and cashed out 75% of my American holdings. The only thing worse than losing a few thousand is losing double or more of that amount.
