Lighten Up

Alright, listen up, you smooth-brained chucklehead. This joke is funny because emo kids are known for being super sad and mopey all the time. So, when the person in the joke throws a lamp at the emo kid and tells him to "lighten the f*ck up," it's a play on words. "Lighten up" usually means to cheer up or be less serious, but in this case, it's also a literal command because a lamp gives off light. Get it? You probably don't, but that's okay.
