The main character loves anime. The killer yells "Omae wa mou shindeiru." The main character instinctively yells back "NANI???" and is killed.

Listen up, you chucklehead! You're clearly not very bright if you don't get this. So, the main character is a huge weeb (you're probably one too). In anime, when a character says "Omae wa mou shindeiru", it means "You are already dead." It's a classic line. The main character, because of all the anime watching, yells back "NANI???" which means "WHAT?!" It's an involuntary reaction. But because of that they die. It's funny because of the weeb stereotype and also the absurd ending. Duh!
