I'm so sorry to hear that :(
Don't worry, I Feel sad sometimes about my dog because he ran away from our home and never came back, sometimes I think maybe he died or he's with another family or at the pound. And I sometimes will be mad at myself about it. But I always look on the bright side a least he is maybe okay and not hurt by anything.
