I used to believe the world wasnt this cruel, but I woke up and saw.

I saw that people hurt each other because they were tired, or scared, or didn’t know better. I kept waiting for someone to notice the damage and say, “This isn’t right. We can be better than this.” But every day the same things happened again. People looked away when someone was suffering. They laughed at pain that wasn’t theirs. They called kindness weakness and cruelty strength. Maybe the world doesn’t change because people never have to face what they’ve allowed to happen. Maybe nothing changes until someone finally stops pretending everything is fine. If you’re reading this, I hope you don’t just feel sad. I hope you feel responsible. Look at the way people are treated. Look at the things you ignore because it’s easier not to care. Look at how often silence protects the wrong people. The world doesn’t become cruel all at once. It happens slowly, every time someone decides not to do anything. So do something. Be louder than the indifference. Be kinder than the world expects you to be. Refuse to let cruelty feel normal. Because if nothing changes after this… Then it means the world chose to stay this way.
